<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid delivering apparatus capable of suppressing mist or the like from being generated when a highly viscous liquid is delivered and preventing dots from being separated, and to provide a method for controlling it. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The liquid delivering apparatus includes: a recording head having a pressure generating room communicated with a nozzle opening and a piezoelectric oscillator for generating pressure fluctuation on a liquid in this pressure generating room; and a driving signal generating circuit for generating a series of driving signals including a driving pulse DP for driving the piezoelectric oscillator. The driving pulse generated by the driving signal generating circuit includes: a plurality of expansion elements for expanding the pressure generating room and drawing-in a meniscus; and first and second contracting element p5 and p7 for delivering a liquid droplet by changing an electric voltage so as to contract the expanded pressure generating room. The expansion elements include: a first expansion element p1; and a second expansion element p3 for drawing-in the meniscus by an electric voltage changing ratio different from the first expansion element.
