<p>A coated airbag is provided. In another aspect, a method of extrusion coating an air impermeable material onto a one-piece woven airbag fabric is employed. Another aspect preheats a fabric such that the fabric remains hot during a coating application thereon. Furthermore, a machine for making and coating an airbag fabric is also provided. The airbag (11) comprises a one-piece woven airbag fabric (14) including a single layer seam (15) woven to a multiple layer inflation chamber (19), an adhesive (33) located on outside surfaces of the one-piece woven fabric (14) and thermoplastic coating (35) located on the adhesive (33), wherein the combined coating (35) and adhesive (33) have a substantially uniform solidified thickness.</p> |
