A method for detecting a pause or stop in a sequence of image frames comprises receiving a sequence of frames, calculating, for frames in the sequence, a static value, accessing data for comparable frames, comparing the calculated value with the data for the comparable frames, and generating a pause/stop output accordingly. The step of calculating, for frames in the sequence, a static value can comprise calculating the sum of temporal differences between a frame and a previous frame. |
