PURPOSE: An overcranking prevention system of a start motor and an apparatus applied to the same is provided to prevent overcranking while an LPG lamp is turned on again if engine start is attempted after an IGN is turned on for long time. CONSTITUTION: An overcranking prevention system of a start motor and an apparatus applied to the same comprises an engine control unit(100), an immobilizer control unit(200), and a power distributing module(300). The engine control unit transmits lamp information indicating whether or not an LPG lamp is turned on. The immobilizer controller forms the control information about the starter motor through the lamp information. The power distributing module drives the starter motor based on the control information. The engine control unit and the immobilizer controller transmit and receive the lamp information through an LPG communication line except serial communications lines.
