PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the stay of condensed water in a foreign material catching device. SOLUTION: The foreign material catching device 34 provided in an EGR passage 31, which connects an intake passage and an exhaust passage of an internal combustion engine to each other so as to catch a foreign material contained in EGR gas includes a heating means 41 for heating the foreign material catching device 34. Since the temperature of the foreign material catching device 34 can be raised higher than a dew point temperature by heating the foreign material catching device 34 by the heating means 41, the generation of condensed water in the foreign material catching device 34 can be restricted.
