The invention relates to a snowshoe (1) including a frame (2), a plate, a first transverse axis pivot link being provided between the front portion of the plate and the rear portion of the frame, and a bar (8) pivotally mounted on the rear portion of the frame using a second transversal axis (11) pivot link (10). The bar includes at least one transverse axial portion (12) having an extension in the form of a cylindrical portion (13), and the frame includes at least one bored portion for receiving the cylindrical portion. Position-maintaining means (22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 33) are provided between the frame and the axial portion on the bar so as to maintain said wedge in at least one abutment position against the rear portion of the plate and to retract upon an imposed pivoting attempt.
