METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DRIVING ELECTROPHORETIC DISPLAY

PURPOSE: A method and a device for driving an EPD(ElectroPhoretic Display) are provided to clearly display data on the EPD by controlling the voltage applied to an EPD component according to peripheral temperature. CONSTITUTION: An EPD(300) comprises a first color particle and a second color particle as an electric interlocking device. A driving unit(200) applies a driving voltage with a pulse type into the EPD according to the control. A controller applies a driving voltage for each color particle as a pulse with the same level if the current temperature is higher than the preset temperature. The voltage applying period of the first color particle is equal to that of the second color particle. A pulse ratio of a periodic pulse is determined according to the difference of mobility of the first and second color particles from the preset temperature. A controller(100) controls the driving unit to apply the driving voltage for the first or second color particle.
