PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejector which can more simply and more surely detect a clogged nozzle than ever before, and a method for detecting the clogged nozzle in the liquid ejector. SOLUTION: The liquid ejector is equipped with a pressure sensor 34 which is applied to the liquid ejector for ejecting a droplet from a minute nozzle, which receives the droplet ejected from the nozzle and outputs an output signal having a signal level changed by the arrival of the droplet, and a determination means for determining a clogging of the nozzle by determining the signal level of the output signal.
