PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve accuracy of identifying an object by properly detecting a specific character region as needed. SOLUTION: An image processor is provided with: an input part 2; a display part 3; a scanner part 4; and a control part 1 for detecting a rectangular region including a specific character region from the image data of an object read by the scanner part 4, and for causing the display part 3 to display the image data of the detected rectangle region, and for calculating unique quantity featured by a character string included in the specific character region from the image data of the rectangular region. When accepting an input operation for correcting the range of the rectangular region on a display image displayed by the display part 3 through the input part 2, the control part 1 calculates the unique quantity from the image data of the corrected rectangular region.
