HEATING FURNACE AND HEATING METHOD

<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformly heat a steel material while reducing a variation of temperature in a furnace width direction by using a side burner. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A heating furnace 1 is provided for heating the steel material of Fe, which is arranged so that a furnace width direction becomes the longitudinal direction. The heating furnace 1 includes: a plurality of first burners 11 which are arranged so as to make a pair on sidewalls of the furnace in the furnace width direction and to face to each other in the furnace width direction; and a plurality of second burners 12 which have a rated flow rate that is smaller than that of the first burner and are arranged so as to make a pair at such positions that can heat the steel material at the sidewalls of the furnace simultaneously when the first burners heat the steel material and to face to each other in the furnace width direction. The rated flow rate Q1 of the first burner and the rated flow rate Q2 of the second burner satisfy 0.4≤Q2/Q1≤0.75. Ž<P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT Ž
