<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of a half-closed eye state and the backlash of barrier blades in an open state and a close state. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A barrier mechanism includes: the barrier blades 203 and 204 which are provided in a barrier base and are freely displaced between an open position where external light is made incident on an optical path and a close position where the entering of the external light into the optical path is cut off; an biasing member 220 having a torsion spring 501 as one example of a first biasing means for biasing to the side of the open position the barrier blades 203 and 204 in the open position and a filigree spring 505 as one example of a second biasing means for biasing to the side of the close position the barrier blades 203 and 204 in the close position; and a drive mechanism displacing the barrier blades 203 and 204 to the side of the close position from the open position and to the side of the open position from the close position by transmitting a drive force from a drive source to the barrier blades 203 and 204 through the biasing member 220.
