<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for suppressing a crosstalk between two adjacent probe pins as an outer spring probe pins effective to relatively reduce the total length of the probe pin and improve a high-frequency characteristic. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A plunger contact section and a barrel contact section are electrically connected. A plunger and/or the barrel are insulated from a coil spring. At least a portion of a barrel protrusion section and/or a plunger protrusion section includes an insulating member. A contact section of the coil spring with the plunger and/or a contact section of the coil spring with the barrel may be covered with an insulating coating, or coated with an insulative tube. The barrel and the coil spring may be insulated. An outer side face of a cylindrical section may be covered with the insulating coating, or coated with the insulative tube.
