<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airtight sealing structure of an optical fiber mounting section which has superior airtightness and is manufactured readily. <P>SOLUTION: The airtight sealing structure of an optical fiber mounting section includes: a metal sleeve 3, provided with a through-hole having a first region 4a and a second region of which the inside diameter is larger than that of the first region 4a; and an optical fiber 1 on which a metallized layer 2 is partially formed over the peripheral face of the clad of the optical fiber 1 and the part on which the metallized layer 2 is not formed is coated with resin, wherein the metal sleeve 3 and the metallized layer 2 are brazed 5, at a range extending from the first range 4a to the second range 4b of the through-hole.
