A method and a system for accessing core network (CN) nodes and an access device thereof are provided. The method includes: selecting (11,311,411) a CN node to be accessed by an access point (AP) according to a preset mapping relationship between the APs and the CN nodes when receiving a service request from the AP; and sending (13) the service request to the selected CN node. Moreover, the CN node is not required to support the Iu-flex function.
In an embodiment, an access gateway, AG, establishes a mapping relationship between registration information about the AP(s) and the CN nodes.
Thereby, the registration information about the AP(s) includes:
an equipment ID of the AP, AP-ID, a mobile network ID of the AP, PLMN-ID, an area ID of a macro network where the AP is located or of the AP, e.g. LAC, RAC, SAC, or information about the geographic location of the AP or about the broadband fixed network that the AP accesses, e.g. an ADSL port number or IP address.
