PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately perform detection and correction of a focus shake regardless of the subject luminance. SOLUTION: The camera system includes: a shake correction part 16 for correcting a shake in an optical axial direction (focus shake) by conforming the position of a focus lens 12 to the shake; a focal point detecting imaging element 5; and an acceleration detector 18. The camera system further includes a focus shake correction amount arithmetic part 210 which computes an instruction to be given to the correction part 16 based on information detected by the imaging element 5 or the detector 18. When the accumulation time of the imaging element 5 is a predetermined value or less, the focus shake correction is performed by use of the information detected by the imaging element 5.
