<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chitosan derivative or a salt thereof having low toxicity to living bodies as well as being water-soluble and an active energy ray-curable resin composition including the chitosan derivative as a polymerization initiator. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The chitosan derivative with specific structure substituted by a polymerizable functional group or the salt thereof is provided. The active energy ray-curable resin composition including the chitosan derivative or the salt thereof as the polymerization initiator is also provided.
