The device (11) has two plug connectors (12, 14) provided with socket contacts (13) and plug contacts (16), respectively. The socket contacts are made to contact the plug contacts during coupling of the two plug connectors for closing the device. A separate electrical connection i.e. earth connection, is formed between the plug connectors during coupling process of the two plug connectors before electrical contacting of the socket contacts with the plug contacts. The coupling process of the plug connectors takes place along an axially running plug-in direction (17).
