<p>The high-voltage cable has a conductor surrounded by a pref. polyethylene or crosslinked polyethylene insulating sheath and a closed metal jacket concentric with these. The sheath is single-layered, and between it and the jacket is a space filled with gas under pressure. Preferably the sheath has regularly angularly spaced longitudinal spacer ribs on its periphery.</p>
