PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrodeless discharge lighting device prevented from damaging a bulb by bringing a cavity into contact with the bulb, even when a crack is generated at the connecting portion of the bulb; and to provide a lighting fixture using the device. SOLUTION: The electrodeless discharge lighting device 1 is provided with the bulb 3 formed of a translucent material with a discharge gas encapsulated therein, a power coupler 10 including an induction coil 13 generating a high-frequency magnetic field in the bulb 3, and a lighting device 16 supplying a high-frequency current into the induction coil 13. The bulb 3 has a bottomed cylindrical cavity 5 forming a cavity unit with the power coupler 10 inserted therein. Each of a recess 9 and a locking protrusion 15 to be engaged with each other is formed on the inner surface of the cavity 5 and the outer wall of the power coupler 10, and the locking protrusion 15 is engaged with the recess 9 to regulate the movement of the cavity 5 towards the top (inner side) of the bulb 3.
