<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems that, since a cylinder is easily cooled through heat dissipation from between the water jackets of the cylinder and skirts, there is a possibility that time is required for warm-up operation. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This cylinder block (10) includes: the cylinder section (20) having a plurality of cylinders (21) and a pair of water jackets (22, 23) arranged on both sides across the plurality of cylinders; and the skirts (30) provided below both the sides across the plurality of cylinders of the cylinder section.
