<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for the fermentative production of a heterologous protein by an E. coli strain in which the protein is secreted to the fermentation culture medium. <P>SOLUTION: In the method, for the culture of an E. coli strain in a fermentation medium, the E. coli strain has a gene encoding the heterologous protein and a functionally linked signal sequence encoding a signal peptide, and the E. coli strain secretes heterologous protein in the culture medium, the E. coli strain has the reduced activity of (p)ppGpp-synthetase II. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
