<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably discharge facing electrodes when a panel is not operating. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The drive circuit to supply the voltage to the electrodes facing each other has an internal power supply voltage generator circuit to generate the internal power supply voltage VLDO2 based on the external power supply voltage VDD2, a first discharging means (Tr3, R) to discharge the output line, a switching circuit 320 to alternately output the voltages VCOMH, VCOML based on the polarity flip signal, second discharging means (MV1, MV2) to discharge to make the voltage of the VCOM supply line 303 become the reference voltage VSS during the initial discharging period when moving to the sleep mode, and first reference voltage holding means (HV1, HV2, R1) maintaining the VCOM supply line voltage through at least from during the discharging period to the period after the discharging.
