METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING A SYNCHRONIZATION SIGNAL IN A CELLULAR MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

Provided is a method for transmitting a synchronization signal in a cellular mobile communication system using a frequency reuse scheme. The method comprises the steps of equally dividing the entire subcarrier of a frequency band given for the transmission of a synchronization signal to a plurality of subcarrier groups, mapping the synchronization signal to the subcarrier of a predetermined subcarrier group, and transmitting the synchronization signal. The frequency interval between subcarriers of said predetermined subcarrier group from among the subcarrier groups forming the entire subcarrier is irregular. Synchronization signals between heterogeneous systems or a plurality of synchronization signals in the same system are definitely discriminated, thus enabling a terminal to acquire synchronization in an efficient manner.
