<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus for improving the position alignment accuracy of two images. <P>SOLUTION: A first movement control section 30 sequentially moves a first image to multiple first positions. A first comparison section 32 compares the moved first image with a second image. A target first position selection section 34 selects a target first position based on the result of comparison by the first comparison section 32. After the target first position is selected, the second movement control section 36 sequentially moves the first image to multiple second positions located in the periphery of the target first position. The second comparison section 38 compares the moved first image with the second image. A target second position selection section 40 selects a target second position based on the result of comparison by the second comparison section 38.
