<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem taht, when the correction of shaking is performed using an acceleration sensor, the correction of gravity acceleration and the setting of an initial velocity are required, and there is a need of performing the setting at high speed with high precision. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The optical equipment comprises a displacement vector detection means, when the correction of shaking is performed on the basis of information from an acceleration sensor detecting acceleration, from the displacement of vibration by an imaging element or the like, for decomposing movement information to the detection direction of the acceleration sensor and detecting the same. From the output information from the displacement vector detection means, the reverse in a displacement direction is detected, on the basis of the information upon the detection of the reverse, the gravity acceleration and initial velocity in the acceleration sensor are set, the output from the acceleration sensor is corrected, and image shaking correction is started.
