PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for sorting/selecting images in a digital image processing device are provided to classify files corresponding to a set condition, thereby selecting the files at once for post-processing. CONSTITUTION: A file condition setting unit(51) sets a fixed condition for file classification. A file searching unit(53) searches the set condition from photographing information of each file. A database construction unit(55) stores files searched by the condition in a database. A file processing unit(57) selects the files stored in the database for post-processing. The file condition setting unit sets date, day, time, period, structure, and conditions of a site for file classification.
