PURPOSE: A device and a method for measuring a molten material level from a shaft furnace are provided to more accurately measure a molten material level from a shaft furnace by measuring it in correspondence with the wind pressure of the shaft furnace. CONSTITUTION: A device for measuring a molten material level from a shaft furnace comprises a shaft furnace(100), a camera(200) and a molten material level meter(400). A tap hole(120) through which a molten material discharges is formed in the shaft furnace. The camera takes a photograph of the image of the molten material(110a) which is discharged from the tap hole. The molten material level meter measures the molten material level from the shaft furnace. The molten material level meter comprises database, a discharging angle calculation unit and a molten material level calculation unit. The database stores the levels of the molten materials. The discharging angle calculation unit calculates a discharging angle.
