The lock (1) has a locking element constituted of a bolt (3) and a lock strike retaining pawl (6), where the locking element cooperates directly or indirectly with a lock strike and is articulated in rotation with respect to a frame (2) around a pin that forms a pivot axle of the locking element. The pin has a section comprising a rectilinear portion whose length is equal to thickness of the frame. The rectilinear portion is arranged perpendicular to a main direction of effort exerted on the lock corresponding to an effort tending to open the frame. An independent claim is also included for a method for fabricating a lock.
