The installation has a tank (1) equipped with a drain pump (10) that is connected to an outlet piping (15). A pressure switch (2) is controlled by pressure reigning in a plunger tube (22) that is placed in the tank. Another pressure switch (3) is controlled by pressure reigning in the outlet piping of the drain pump, where the latter pressure switch includes a membrane (30) connected to a tube (31) that is connected to the outlet piping of the pump. Interrupters of the switches are placed in two parallel branches of a power supply circuit of a motor of the pump. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling operation of a motor of a drain pump placed in a tank of an evacuation installation.
