PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a particle arrangement object having a high-quality colloid crystal with suppressed arrangement turbulence in a short time, with suppressed contraction of a surface and exhibiting a clear structure color. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the particle arrangement body, a step of forming the colloid crystal for exhibiting the structure color by arranging a mono-dispersed particle using a liquid-like medium containing a temporarily fixing monomer and a certainly fixing monomer and polymerizing the temporarily fixing monomer, and a step of polymerizing the certainly fixing monomer are successively performed in this order. Specifically, it can be made to a constitution that a timing group-containing compound represented by formula (1): M1-Time1-M2 is contained in the liquid-like medium. In the formula (1), Time1 represents a timing group, M1 represents a residual group of the temporarily fixing monomer, and M2 represents a residual group of the certainly fixing monomer.
