<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actualize simple and economical construction for effectively reducing an external load, enabling fastening and holding, and improving vibration resistance and impact resistance. <P>SOLUTION: In this fuel cell stack 10, a stack 14 is provided which has a plurality of unit cells 12 stacked in the horizontal direction. At both ends of the stack 14 in the stacking direction, terminal plates 16a, 16b, insulating plates 18a, 18b, and end plates 20a, 20b are arranged. The fuel cell stack 10 includes an elastic rubber belt 60 circulating from the stack 14 to the outer peripheries of the end plates 20a, 20b in the stacking direction. The elastic rubber belt 60 is formed in an endlessly cylindrical shape, and its inner peripheral face is formed as a flat-shape 62.
