PURPOSE: An adaptive high-performance proxy cache server and a caching method are provided to comprise conformance about mass contents and supply various protocols, thereby removing a communication restriction with original server and reducing unnecessary traffic, during partial contents processing, and saving storage. CONSTITUTION: A cache API(Application Programming Interface) hooker(321) transfers a file request to a kernel area in an application server to a cache model(322). If a file corresponding to the file request is not in a memory of cache, the cache module transfers the file request to a transmission mode(323). The transport module supports a transfer protocol requests a file requested from the cache module to an origin server and transfers a file received from the origin sever to the cache module.
