PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve image quality by preventing bending of an image to be formed on paper and reducing the color shift and the registering failure of both sides of the paper. SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 includes: an image forming section for forming a toner image by an electrostatic latent image formed by a writing unit for forming a latent image based on the image data on the paper through transfer by a plurality of transfer rollers; a nonvolatile memory 94 for storing a correction value table for correcting a component capable being handled as a predetermined value for each coordinate of the main scanning direction, of the shift amount of the sub scanning direction of the image generated during the transfer; a correction circuit 71 for correcting the shift of a pixel of the sub scanning direction of the image; and a control section 90 that sets the correction data of the correction value table read from the nonvolatile memory 94 in the correction circuit section 71 and makes the correction circuit 71 correct the shift of the pixel of the sub scanning direction of the image.
