The system has a support plate (2) made of natural or artificial stone, comprising a u-shaped connecting element (4) for side parts (3). The connecting element comprises brackets (6) that are detachably connected with the side parts. The connecting element has a bar (5) forming a support surface (8) for the support plate. A stop device (12) is provided in both regions of the bar, and detachably connected with the bar. The stop device comprises a bearing surface (13) for the side parts. Another stop device is provided at a side, which is opposite to the stop device, of the bar.
