A piston (10) for combustion engine has a cast piston crown (11), at least one ring carrier (17) cast into the piston crown (11) and a cooling channel (18) at the same height as the ring carrier. The radially outward directed wall zone (19) of the cooling channel (18) is formed by the ring carrier (17) and the residual wall zones (22,23.24) of the cooling channel are formed by the piston crown (11). An independent claim is included for a method for fabricating a piston. |
