<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal processor or the like diagnosing a signal processing system more easily than before. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The signal processor includes: the signal processing system for performing signal processing to a prescribed test pattern outputted from the imaging apparatus provided with a test pattern generation part holding beforehand the prescribed test pattern corresponding to the characteristics of an imaging element which images an object; a detection part for detecting the characteristics of the imaging element; an information output part for outputting a processing result when the signal processing in the signal processing system is appropriately performed to the prescribed test pattern on the basis of the detected result of the detection part; a comparison part for comparing the result of the signal processing in the signal processing system and the processing result outputted from the information output part; and a diagnosing part for diagnosing the signal processing system on the basis of the compared result of the comparison part.
