In the production of NaH by reacting Na with H2 at 200-350 DEG C., the Na is activated by addition of K, or solid anhydrous KOH. The reaction may be effected using 1-10% mol. K or KOH with stirring in a liquid medium having a boiling point 200-500 DEG C., e.g. mineral, or paraffin, oils. |
