PURPOSE: A refrigerator and a control method are provided to easily store side dish by separately preparing side dish corner in a refrigerator compartment. CONSTITUTION: A refrigerator(1) comprises: a main body(10) which includes a freezer compartment(12) and a refrigerator compartment(13); a freezer door(14) and a refrigerator door(15) which are installed on the front side of the main body and selectively shield the freezer compartment and the refrigerator compartment; a cold air duct which is formed on the rear wall of the refrigerator compartment and includes a cold air outlet which discharge cold air to the inside of the refrigerator compartment; a side dish corner(300) which is formed in the inside of the refrigerator and includes a side dish storage which runs in sliding-type and a case which includes the cold air inlet which is formed in the location corresponding to the cold air outlet and surrounds the side dish storage; and a damper which controls the amount of opening and shutting ratio of the cold air outlet or the cold air inlet.
