<p>Provided is an elevator apparatus, wherein a speed regulator is provided in the top part of the elevator shaft, and a tension pulley is provided in the lower part of the elevator shaft. The speed regulator rope which is driven in response to the motion of the cage is wrapped between the speed regulator sheave of the speed regulator and the tension pulley. The tension pulley is rotated in response to the motion of the speed regulator rope. A rotation detector which generates signals in response to the rotation of the tension pulley is provided in the tension pulley. The information from the rotation detector is sent to a controller. The controller detects the position of the cage based on the information from the rotation detector.</p> |
