PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a colloidal crystal fixed with a polymer, wherein the fixation is performed while the arrangement structure of colloidal particles formed in a solution is sufficiently maintained, as well as the crystal structures (lattice constant, crystal form, etc.) of the colloidal crystal can be easily controlled, and the colloidal crystal can be efficiently produced whose scattering and transmittance of light is sufficiently controlled. SOLUTION: The method for producing the colloidal crystal comprises: a process to prepare a dispersion liquid that includes a dispersion medium component containing at least one selected from the group consisting of monomers and polymers, colloidal particles whose average particle diameter is 0.05-5μm and degree of monodispersion, represented by formula (1): [degree of monodispersion (unit: %)]=(standard deviation of particle diameter)/(mean particle diameter)×100, is 10% or less, and at least one coloring material selected from the group consisting of pigments and dyes, and the colloidal particles are dispersed in the dispersion medium component in a state of a three-dimensionally ordered arrangement having a reflection peak in reflection spectrum, and the colloidal crystal in the state of the three dimensionally ordered arrangement is formed; and a process to obtain a colloidal crystal fixed with the polymer by curing the dispersion medium component contained in the dispersion medium.
