<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a device to generate an instantaneous force only in a fixed direction in a simple configuration. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The instantaneous force generating device includes a band-like elastic body 3A, a support stand 2, an arm member 4A, an oscillating axis 12 and a driving part 6A. In the elastic body 3A, one end in the longitudinal direction is fixed to the support stand 2 and the other end in the longitudinal direction to the arm member 4A. The arm member 4A is pivotably attached to the support stand 2 via the oscillating axis 12. Then, the driving portion 6A moves the arm member 4A with the oscillating axis 12 as a fulcrum in the first direction X in which one end and other end of the elastic body 3A come close and then deflect the elastic body 3A resulting in a leap buckling in a fixed direction and in the second direction Y which separates one end from the other end of the elastic body 3A. Thereby, the device can generate the leap buckling on the elastic body only in the fixed direction in an extremely simple configuration and generate the instantaneous force only in the specific direction.
