<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately and easily determine whether or not an abrasion exceeding an allowable abrasion range is caused in the elastic rotary body of a seed detector for an elevator. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A determining tool 20 formed with a circular recessed part 22 (an abrasion measuring part) of the size corresponding to the allowable abrasion range of the elastic rotary body 13, is butted against the elastic rotary body 13, and whether or not the abrasion degree of the elastic rotary body 13 exceeds the allowable abrasion range, is determined based on whether or not the elastic rotary body 13 interferes with the outer peripheral edge of the circular recessed part 22.
