PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of a sliding electric component in the direction perpendicular to the sliding direction of a sliding member. SOLUTION: The sliding electric component includes a case 2 having a storage portion, the sliding member 5 provided slidably in the case 2, a sliding movement detecting means for detecting the sliding movement of the sliding member 5, a leaf spring 4 having an engaging protruded portion 41 for engaging/disengaging with/from an engaging piece 53a of the sliding member 5 with the sliding movement of the sliding member 5, and a coil spring 3 to be elastically deformed with the sliding movement of the sliding member 5 to restore the sliding member 5 into a pre-operated condition. The leaf spring 4 is arranged so that the leaf face crosses the inner bottom face of the storage portion, and part of the engaging protruded portion 41 of the leaf spring 4 is protruded on an extension line in the compressing direction of the coil spring 3.
