<p>The adjuster (1) has a traction element (3) and a clamping element (4) that are movably guided in a clamping housing (2), provided with a ratchet locking mechanism and contacted with one another by a wedge guide. The housing and the traction element are connected with an operating body i.e. tiltable hand brake lever, and a Bowden cable. A spring (24) acts on the traction element in a tapering direction, and a spring retainer (41) has a spring carrier (42) that is arranged at a front side of the housing.
