PURPOSE: An article, laminate, and associated methods are provided to effectively increase time which it takes for unreacted chemical or microorganism agents having biological activity to pass through an article. CONSTITUTION: An article(10) comprises: a membrane(11) having air gap; a selectively permeable coating(12) which is supported by the membrane; and one or more antimicrobial agents. The membrane includes a polymer which is not fluoridated. The polymer which is not fluoridated includes polytetrafluroethylene. The antimicrobial agents include; one or more halamnie; ammoniates; a compound containing silver ions; sulfonamide; N-chloro-4-methyl group; sodium salt; a compound containing zinc ions; a compound containing copper ions; a compound releasing chlorine; sodium dichloro-s-triazinetrione; or trichloro-s-triazinetrione.
