<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chair which can shift the position of a sitter from an upright position to an inclined position safely and comfortably by avoiding his or her slippage or uncomfortable position during inclining movement of its backrest. <P>SOLUTION: The chair includes the backrest 5 which has a convex 5a for supporting the lower back, a horizontal front seat 10, a back seat 11 which is pivotally supported so that it can rock downward with respect to the front seat 10, a leg support 8 which is pivotally supported by the front end of the front seat 10, links 21 and 23 which change the position relation between the back end of the back seat 11 and the lower end of the backrest 5 so that the distance from the convex 5a for supporting the lower back to the back seat 11 in the inclined position may be smaller than that in the upright position as the backrest 5 is inclined backward, and a connecting link 37 which connects the lower end of the backrest 5 and a point of the leg support 8 lower than its upper end and allows the leg support 8 to rock forward as the backrest 5 is inclined backward. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
