PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve frame rate of an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus which transmits and receives ultrasound to and from a biological tissue and displays an elastic image of the biological tissue and a non-elastic image regarding the biological tissue excluding the elastic image. SOLUTION: When generating an ultrasonic image G1 by synthesizing an elastic image and a B-mode image of a biological tissue, the ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus carries out ultrasonic transmission/reception B1 for a B-mode image to acquire echo signals for generating the B-mode image between ultrasonic transmission/reception for an elastic image E1 and ultrasonic transmission/reception for an elastic image E2 that are carried out to acquire echo signals for generating the elastic image.
