PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology immediately specifying causes of paper jams.

SOLUTION: An image forming device 1 includes: paper feeding means 2-6; a conveyance means 15 conveying paper sheets along a paper sheet conveyance path from the paper feeding means 2-6; a paper sheet detection means 30 detecting passage of the paper sheet conveyed by the conveyance means 15; a measurement means 28 measuring passage time of the paper sheet based on the detection of the passage of the paper sheet performed by the paper sheet detection means 30; and nonvolatile storage means 31 and 32 ordinarily storing data on the passage time of the paper sheet measured by the measurement means 28.
