<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical modulator capable of observing an objective portion, while keeping the resolution and the light quantity of observation light. <P>SOLUTION: The optical modulator 1A includes: a light source part of emitting a laser beam Lr and illumination light Li, which have wavelengths different from each other onto the same optical path; a dielectric multilayer film mirror 44a, which is formed on a prism 43, reflects the laser beam Lr and transmits the illumination light Li; a reflection type SLM 51, which receives the laser beam Lr from the dielectric multilayer film mirror 44a from the oblique front side and modulates the laser beam Lr, while reflecting the laser beam; a dielectric multilayer film mirror 44b which is formed on the prism 43, reflects the laser beam Lr received from the reflection type SLM 51, and at the same time, transmits the illumination light Li received from the dielectric multilayer film mirror 44a, together with the laser beam Lr, after reflection onto the same optical path; and a light condensing lens 61, which receives the illumination light Li and the laser beam Lr from the dielectric multilayer film mirror 44b and condenses the illumination light Li and the laser beam Lr. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
