<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent collisions even if any foreign matter exists on the way when lowering a nozzle head which attaches a suction nozzle so as to secure the safety of lowering operation. <P>SOLUTION: A component mounting apparatus includes: a mounting head which is moved in the X-axis and Y-axis directions by X-axis/Y-axis movement mechanisms 4 and 5; and a nozzle head 6 having load control means 16 and 24, which is attached to the mounting head and can be moved in the Z-axis direction by a Z-axis movement mechanism 12. The component mounting apparatus also has a failure decision means 54, wherein a lower limit position in the Z-axis direction along which the nozzle head is lowered and a load threshold which is determined as abnormal if the value is detected by the time the nozzle head reaches the lower limit position are predetermined for each type of nozzle head lowering operation performed by the Z-axis movement mechanism, and which determines a load value detected by the load control means when the nozzle head is lowered by the Z-axis movement mechanism as abnormal if the load value exceeds the load threshold by the time the nozzle head reaches the lower limit position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
